Forest Moua

Forest is a Hmong-American freshman in Pennypacker Hall, considering a concentration in Biomedical Engineering and a secondary in Art, Film, and Visual Studies. Born in Merced, a heavily agricultural and suburban town in the Central Valley of California, Forest was fortunate to be surrounded by a large Hmong community and support system, namely through his family and his father, one of the first Hmong poet-writers in America. In high school, Forest was involved in community outreach within the Merced area (specifically in the Hmong community). At Harvard, Forest hopes to vocally advocate for Southeast Asian representation in institutions of higher education, as well as pursue journalistic writing as a means to express his Asian-American experience. As an AAA Frosh Representative, Forest aims not only to begin his journey as a AAA member, but as a community supporter and advocate. Outside of work, you’ll find Forest walking around the Harvard Arboretum, admiring art works in the Fogg Art Museum, or thrifting for new outfits or bracelets around Boston and Cambridge.
